Indiana's women's swimming team dominated the dual meet against Louisville, securing a 161-138 victory. The highlight of the women's meet was the 400-meter freestyle relay, where Indiana's 'A' team, led by Liberty Clark, Grace Hoeper, Alex Shackell, and Kristina Paegle, clocked an impressive 3:08.07, the third-fastest time in the NCAA this season. This performance solidified Indiana's dominance in the relay event.
Indiana's individual performances were equally impressive. Liberty Clark showcased her versatility by winning the 200-meter freestyle in 1:41.35 and the 100-meter freestyle in 46.36, setting a new personal best. Alex Shackell also shone, claiming the 200-meter butterfly in 1:54.41 and the 100-meter butterfly in 51.08, both of which are Indiana school records. Additionally, Miranda Grana swept the backstroke events, winning the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke.
Louisville's standout performer was Anastasia Gorbenko, who joined the team this spring and set school records in the 100-meter breaststroke and 200-meter individual medley. She also contributed to the team's 200-meter medley relay, which finished second. Daria Golovaty and Leticia Fassina Romao from Louisville claimed the 500-meter and 1000-meter freestyle titles, respectively.
The men's team also had a successful outing, winning 216-84 against Louisville. Zalan Sarkany dominated the individual events, winning the 1000-meter, 500-meter freestyle, and 400-meter individual medley. Mikkel Lee, another standout performer, claimed the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle titles, setting a new personal best in the 50-meter freestyle. Raekwon Noel swept the butterfly events, while Josh Bey and Alexei Avakov won the breaststroke events.
