The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation's December draw offered an incredible grand prize, and Chilton's name was drawn from among the many ticket purchases across Northern Ontario, including in the Sault.
"I can't believe it," Chilton exclaimed when he received the life-altering call. His words echo the shock and excitement of winning such a substantial amount. With a record-breaking pot of $7,720,930, this win surpasses last year's jackpot of $6,436,355 won by Natalie and Clem Bigras of Hanmer, Ontario.
And this is the part most people miss: Chilton's connection to the healthcare industry. He held various roles, working with the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority in the James Bay region and in Sioux Lookout, Northwestern Ontario. His dedication to healthcare is undeniable.
